Getting hair done- how much do you tip?
I'm getting my hair straightened today. It's about $300.
How much should i tip?
There is the main stylist and then the assistant who helps do your hair too.
Do you tip them the same? assistant less?

I would tip the main stylist 20 and the assistant 10.

I find that there is always someone who does more work. If the straightening is $300, I'd tip a total of $60 (20%) and distribute the money accordingly. I usually had at least three people workign on me (chemical, washing, flat iron, etc.)

I always tip the main person 20% and then the hair washing girl $5 or $10 depending on how much work they did.

Sorry, but if you liked the service, I think it's 20%. It kills me when I get a cut, color and highlghts for 250 and then have to tip over 40 bucks. But hey, they have to make a living too!
