Getting Hyped Up About Level II but

I have been doing this countdown for the last month, DH and I are sooooo excited to find out if we are having a boy or girl. But in the back of my mind, and I guess a little out loud too, I have been telling myself and my family that there is a chance the baby wont be in the right position and we might leave there without knowing. How common is it for the baby to not move at all in the right direction? Any advice?

We couldn't find out the sex. I didn't know it was common until after it happened.

I had to go back the following week and we found out then.

at first mine wasn't cooperating! the tech had to turn me around to the side and had to tap and my belly a lot to get her to move! once she did she could tell that we are having a girl. my good friend had this problem and the baby did not cooperate at all. since the dr. wouldn't do another sono she made an appt. for a 3d sono instead. i know how you feel it is so exciting and i worried too that we wouln't find out. if not, you can always try again at another time! I had to go twice. Baby would not turn around to show his heart. He did it again on the second visit. They made me drink OJ and I had "a talk" with him.

I did not want to find out the gender, but I had to go back for a 2nd level II b/c after an hour of belly giggling the nugget would not move a certain way for some of the more important measurements...like the heart chambers & valves...

I had OJ and some chocolate right before I left for my appointment. I've heard both recommendations from ladies on here, and it worked for me, thankfully. It can't hurt to try!! Good luck! Chat Icon

I wonder if this will happen to me, my ultrascreen took two hours because the baby wouldn't cooperate either.

I totally know what you mean! Our level 2 is this Thursday- and I just cant wait to see our little booger again! Hopefully we will be able to find out the sex! I think DH will be so disappointed if the baby doesnt cooperate!

We weren't trying to find out the sex and our baby sat perfectly still [aside from arm movements really] during the whole hour...that included the tech "shaking" my belly and me emptying my bladder. It's not the end of the world, but some babies choose not to move or be in "position" for it.Chat Icon

I had some chocolate before mine and the baby kept waving it's arms preventing them from getting decent pics of the heart chambers. They told me my doodlebug was too active
