getting kids to nap better
is that even possible??
DS is sleeping from about 8pm to 5:30 am; if its the 2 days my mom has him or on the weekends, sometimes he goes back to sleep after his bottle; the other 3 days hes at daycare so he doesn't go down for a nap until sometime later in the morning.
Most times he goes down after 3 hours of being up for 30-40 min. sometimes shorter. Once in a blue moon, i get a good long nap out of him.
I get him ready to nap when i see his signs of being tired, but lately he's been going all day with maybe an hour or 2hrs worth of naps. all day!! and yet he's not really cranky or fussy.
maybe my kid isnt wired to nap long??

Re: getting kids to nap better
Some kids are better at naps than others. My DD is a great sleeper at night (almost the same hours as your DS, just goes to bed a little earlier) yet naps have always been a fight, even when she was a tiny infant. It's like she knows it's daytime and doesn't want to miss anything!
At daycare she takes a decent nap but the teachers always tell me she wakes up several times and they have to rub her back for a few minutes to get her back down. If they didn't do that I'm sure she would be up after half an hour. She doesn't get overly cranky either.
