getting new banisters inside--recommend your company
we're having major issues babyproofing our house. we have a high ranch which means our main floor is at the TOP of our stairs--a real hazard for a baby. we have wrought iron rails and they're not cutting it with the gates--even with special pieces that we bought.
we may have to get wooden banisters. i'm in nassau county. any recs of someone good yet fairly inexpensive? we weren't planning on having to do this

We used Golden Oak on Sunrise Hgwy in Bellmore. Really happy with them.

NO recommendations, although I would definitely call Golden Oak if we went that route. We also have a hi-ranch, and we ended up removing the wrought iron gate at the top of the stairs (bordering the living room) and we put up a wall.

I used the Same guy as VickiC...she highly recomended him...and he was cheapest by far!! Pics in my album!!!! VickiC will have the number if you FM her!!!

We used Bill Elliott (516) 236-4158. He was great. Did the whole install, dropped stuff off for us to look at, then picked up our choice. He was really great.

We are in the process of using him (he is building it and just has to install it)
he's SUPER friendly - 40% less than anyone else. I hope that I can post great things after it's completed.
