getting "ready" for TTC/pregnancy?
I have one DS and before getting pregnant with him I happened to be in good shape - I was eating well, exercising, taking viatmins.
It was so easy before DC!
Now we are considering TTC this month - all of a sudden. I am sooooo not in the same position I was in with my first DC. I eat horribly, I haven' ttaken a vitamin in ages, I never exercise, etc.
Did you really "prepare" before TTC or before being pregnant?

I really didn't prepare at all. I just started taking a prenatal vitamin. I also try to eat right and increase my fruit and vegetable intake, but it doesn't always work out.

I've started taking a regular multi vitamin and "trying" to eat healthy but nothing too crazy.

Re: getting "ready" for TTC/pregnancy?
At a minimum, I would definitely start taking a prenatal vitamin or at least 800 mcgs of Folic Acid supplement before TTC.
Folic Acid is extremely important in the first few weeks of pregnancy - when you may not even know you're pregnant. So starting to take it before you TTC, you will ensure that you have it in your system when you need it most.

THANKS for the folic acid info - I was trying to remember how much we should be taking.

Re: getting "ready" for TTC/pregnancy?
My doctor put me on a prenatal vitamin (Gesticare DHA- which is amazing BTW) and sent me for a full blood scan when I told her at my last checkup we were going to start TTC. I have tried to stop drinking coffee because I get withdrawal migraines when I don't have it in the morning. I am weening myself now because I don't need the headaches when I am preggo!

I really didn't do anything to prepare other than the Folic Acid

Re: getting "ready" for TTC/pregnancy?
I'm taking one a day prenatals (doc said they were really good for over the counter) and trying (emphasis on trying) to decrease/cut out caffeine. I am just trying to be more aware of what I eat, and especially cut back on the red meat that I eat (I love beef and am just now starting to really eat chicken/turkey). I should lose weight, but I can honestly say that is not going to happen...I just do not have good willpower.

Well I was a smoker so that was something I definetly stopped before TTC and I also take prenatal vitamins.
I'm TRYING to eat healthier but it's not working out
