Getting records from LI-IVF
They charge $.75 a page to get me copies of my records for my OB. I mean, seriously, that is ridiculous. My insurance company has probably paid them $20K - $25K since I started going there and you're going to charge me $.75 a page for my records? Come on!

You should have your OB's office call and see if they can get around that.

I saw their policy, but when I asked for a copy of my bloodwork, they just gave it to me. I think doctor's offices might charge for the actual doctor notes not the other stuff.

Sorry, crashing.
But that is perfectly normal. HIPPA allows them to charge $.75 (max) a page. It sucks, but they aren't doing something outrageous

What if you ask them to fax the papers over to your OB?
I had my old RE fax over my entire chart to new RE and they didn't ask me for a cent. (It was a pretty large file - almost 2 years worth of procedures).

That's ridic- mine gives the first set for free and I think the second set is like $20.
BTW I gave all my records to the OB so he can see i've had all the blood tests recently. Well it didn't matter, he did all the testing again. So check with your OB, you may not even need them.

They didn't charge me either! They faxed the records to my OB free of charge. I would double check this.

Please check with your health insurance company to see if they can do this. I work for a health insurance company and as per our contract with the doctors they cannot do this. However every health plan is different. Good luck!

Yup. Paid over $20.00 for my records. I should have asked my dr to do it and they would have sent a set over there free.

See thats not right. I have been to 3 different RE's and NONE of them charged me for getting my records. I think if you had them do this more than once, I could see it, but to release your info to your OBY is so wrong.
