Weekend -- horses! I have lessons on Saturday and I will also ride Sunday. My parents are moving soon, so I will probably help them pack some. They are renting out my childhood home and moving down south to their home in NC right around Thanksgiving. 
Favorite vacation spot -- Best vacation ever was our honeymoon to Italy, but I've only been there once. Our favorite frequent getaway is the Finger Lakes. We love the wineries up there and last time we were there, we found a great spa!

Book - A Separate Peace by John Knowles is my favorite book of all time. There are so many others that I love, though!
Movie - Cinderella is my favorite movie of all time. I actually have my undergraduate degree in film, so there are so, so many movies that I just love.

I used to be a pro and taught lessons / trained horses, but I got my amateur card back a few years ago... so now I just take lessons! 
Hopefully in another couple years, I'll have my own farm and may go back to teaching lessons then.

An actress or a rock star.  Then, when I came to the realization that I cannot sing, I just wanted to do anything having to do with horses -- train, show, teach, have my own barn.

At a wine bar in NYC.
Did Dh love horses before you met or did you convert him?
He had never touched a horse, let alone sat on one before he met me. I converted him. Actually, he didn't start taking lessons and riding until after we were married, though he'd come out to help with them and get on occasionally before that. He's somewhat of a natural and took to riding really easily. I never pushed him, though - he asked if he could start taking lessons for his birthday 2 years ago. I was happy to have it be just my hobby, but I'm glad he loves it, too!
Are your 2 crazy kittens still loving water??
Oh yeah. They take showers and try to swim in the toilet. One licks the shower door clean every day. Whenever we get home, they try to coax us into opening the bathroom door so they can play in there.

I can only pick one?! I love all different kinds of wines, but I'm really feeling the whites these days.

Does U2 qualify as a type of music? Probably rock. I listen to a little bit of everything, though, even some country.
If you could have a superpower what would it be?
Does this count as a super power? I would be able to eat anything I wanted, in any amounts I wanted, and always stay skinny.
Otherwise, I'd love to be able to talk to animals.
If you weren't named "Kara" what do you think your name would be?
I'm pretty sure I'd have been named Scott or Peter if I were a boy. If I were a girl and not named Kara, my parents probably would have gone for something common and/or Irish. Maybe Catherine.
What kind of mattress did you get????
The kind that holds up to lots and lots of childlessness.  JK I don't recall offhand... will double-check and let you know.

I'm an attorney in litigation and intellectual property for a big firm. I don't plan on doing this too much longer, though -- I plan to transition to running my own horse farm, a therapeutic horseback riding program, and real estate. (I'm a licensed real estate broker.)

I have a lot of great childhood memories. I have a lot of memories of playing in the sink while my mom was cooking dinner. My dad used to take me trail riding at local stables when I was a kid. I used to BEG to go. It was always "our" thing. He is a golf fanatic, so he understands having a passion. Every year, my parents let me take off from school so my dad could take me to Opening Day at Shea. I also remember one Christmas, I got a blackboard and Santa wrote a note on it. I was SO excited about that. Actually, Santa left me a letter every year, and I was way too little to notice the similarity between his handwriting and my mom's handwriting.

What are your other hobbies besides riding?
Unfortunately, with the hours I work and three horses, I don't have a ton of free time... but I love to read. I usually read on the train to and from work when I don't have work to do on the train. I have my undergraduate degree in film, and I love movies and TV. I'm a reality TV junkie. I mainly concentrated on screenwriting in school, so I love to write. I love music and go to as many concerts as I can. I have two cats that are hilarious. I would like to start volunteering at a therapeutic riding program soon. I used to do that when I lived down south and I LOVED it. I like skiing, but rarely get to go.
Do you prefer hot or cold weather?
Spring and fall are my favorite. I'd pick warm over cold, though. I'd like down south again in a heartbeat - but I don't think I'd like to be somewhere like FL or So Cal where it's warm all the time. I do like to ski!
Do you "like" kids?
I like to joke and say I like "returnable" children -- i.e., kids that aren't mine. I do like kids, though. I want to work with kids -- in my barn and hopefully one day in a therapeutic riding program that will serve kids and adults with disabilities... I have 5 nieces and nephews that I adore, too.
