gift cards... is there a way to get cash for them?
in my attempts to organize my home, i've discovered some gift cards... some of them don't make sense for me: places i don't go to.
is there a way that i can "sell them"?
i'd be willing to take less than face value, since most of them were tokens from my previous employer.
any ideas?

Try selling them to people on here. Or list them on eBay or Craigslist.
Most of the time, GC cannot be redeemed for cash in the store.

Stores make you pretty much use it up. If you have $$ after your purchase they leave it on the car for next time.
If you can find someone to sell them to just offer a little off the value.

Try selling them to people on here.
i guess that's not a bad idea. i'll go home and check to make sure that the values haven't gone down before i post about them.
and yes, i would offer them for less than face value to "sweeten" the deal

I sell them on ebay all the time
They normally sell with in 2 hours
I sell them for a little less then the value
Just be careful b/c you can only sell 1 a week on ebay

I havent used it- but have heard of a website- plasticjungle.com you can sell or buy cards on there

You have to check the date also b/c some places start taking the value away after I think 12 months of not using them KWIM?

yes, and i will double-check before trading/selling.
i have cards to:
* ikea
* salt creek grille
* dsw (might keep this one)
* koi spa
this is the list that comes to mind

You can always re-gift them..or buy gifts for people with them. I've done that a few times.
