Yes, Rainbow Loom is extremely popular for the 6 year old set. I think it is a good gift for an up to 13 year old.

Magic Jin

Monster High Dolls
Arts and Crafts sets (make your own pillow, pot holder set, tile sets where they make a book)
GC for books
Pocketbook
lip gloss/make up but I would ask first before giving something like that.
