Gift for a 1 yr old
I want to get something for my friend's 1 yr old daughter and I'd like some suggestions from moms of 1 yr olds. I'm sure this baby is going to get showered with toys so I was thinking of getting her a little outfit in addition to a toy with a gift receipt so she can exchange it if it's a double or something she doesn't like.
But do you think a gift card would be better instead of the toy? What do the moms of 1 yr olds want for their babies for Christmas? Any other suggestions?

What about different books? I don't have a 1 year old so maybe that's not a good idea but I love it when people buy us books.

See, I'm big on the toys because they get so bored at this age with things. Even if they do get alot, Mom can whip out a new toy a few weeks/months down the road and ahhhhh, instant relief from a cranky toddler My daughter loves books too, so that gets another A+++ in my book!

I aggree on the toys and books. There are so many awesome books out there --- is there anyway of finding out what books they have already so you don't get duplicates?
ETA also what about clothes in bigger sizes ... like 2 sizes bigger then what she is wearing now? I am hoping people do this for us for christmas actually -- because they grow so quickly and we have plenty of her size now but barely anything in bigger sizes.

Re: Gift for a 1 yr old
I have a almost 1 year old and books and clothes are always good. As for specifics the LeapStart Learning Table, the FP Laugh & Learn Puppy, a push along/ride on walker are what she is getting this year. But any leap frog toy should be good too.

Re: Gift for a 1 yr old
We got a fantastic gift when Jacob was born from a friend. It is a personalized Children's book. There are alot of them out there but this books illustrations are beautiful and it helps them learn their name. I think a one year old would definately benefit from it.
go to www.iseeme.com and it is my very own name book.. It is reasonably priced and the child can learn from it...
If not toys are always great there are so many out there.
