Gift for classmate's birthday?
DS is in Kindergarten. He was invited to his classmate's birthday party next weekend. It's being hosted at one of those party places.
DS doesn't know the kid outside of school, but I know its one of the boys that he's closest with in his class. I've never met the parents before.
This will be DS' first time going to a party for one of his classmates. What's a good gift to give? Some co-workers told me to get a GC but I'm not sure??

I'll generally do a $25 gift card (target) or pick a present in the same price range.

Re: Gift for classmate's birthday?
When possible I like to give an actual gift at that age because they don't get the fun in opening up a gift card just yet. I always include a gift receipt though incase the child already has the toy or doesn't like it.
What about a lego super hero kit and a book?

I would buy a toy in $15 to $30 range, whatever you can afford, and include a gift receipt.
Ask you son what his friend is into- they usually know. Ask if he like sot read or put together Lego sets, maybe. He should give you a good clue...

I usually do $25-$30 gift card. That age group is a little easier. I feel like Marshall's has great toys at reasonable prices. Once they are a bit older I know they get pickier about what they like.
