Gift for older siblings

I want to have a gift at the hospital to give DD from her new brother when she comes to see him for the first time, but I can't decide what to get. She already has a ton of baby dolls & I was told at Christmas that my Aunt ordered a Bitty Baby doll to give to her when the baby is born so I guess she won't need another doll. What did you ladies get for the older siblings from the baby?

For my neice when she became a big sister, i knew my sis was having a boy, so I got her a figurine of a big sister bear with a little brother bear... its nothing to play with but it was something symbolic.

I want to do the same for my dd, but dont know what were having this time. I bought dd a bubble dog thing from target the other day, but she saw it and wanted to play with it.. so once again I have nothing to give her..


eta: I just noticed your avatar about a little brother. Are you looking for a play thing or symbolic thing?

Check out Borders. They have books for older siblings.

Maybe a dvd of a favorite movie.

ETA: How about a little play diaper bag filled with essentials and an infant seat for her dolls so she can emulate mommy and DS.

along the lines of what the PP said.. whatabout a play diaper bag with a bottle and burp cloth and pacifer for HER to use only to help with her baby brother?

another favorite idea is if shes old enough to comprehend what to do with a camera.. get her a childrens camera ike this one from target for 19.99 (tinkerbell of course)


for her to take her own pics of baby brother and of her then get her a photo album with the sitky pages (easier to use) so she can keep her OWN memories!! that camera actually says it comes with a printer too .. just an idea

Friends of ours gave the older sibling a table and chair set and another friend gave a train table to the older son.
