Gift Ideas for Friends
The post on gift ideas for family was a HUGE help. I got the hardest people on my list because of something I saw. So.....wondering what everyone is thinking for friends? If you are exchanging presents with friends...what ideas do you have...or what would you want for yourself?

Re: Gift Ideas for Friends
My friends and I decided to do a Kris Kringle this year because it got to be too much exchanging with each other (there are 6 of us who typically exchange). So it depends who I get. Some of my ideas:
A basket of scrapbooking materials for a crafty friend.
Several cookbooks with easy recipes (for 2 friends who either just got married or are getting married, and have lived at home forever so don't know how to cook). I may combine this with a subscription to Real Simple magazine.
A gift card to Ann Taylor for a friend who is addicted to that store.
For small gifts in the past I've gotten people a box of Godiva chocolate, one year I crocheted everyone scarfs out of their favorite color, last year I got everyone books about a topic I know they liked (a Zagats for someone who liked to eat out, a book on Hawaii for a friend going there on her honeymoon, etc.)

Re: Gift Ideas for Friends
I usually get my girlfriends christmas decorations of some sort, Santas, Snowmen or ornaments. It takes so many years to build up a nice collection to decorate your house, that I figure it is an easy gift. I also give gift certificates to restaurants or clothing stores.

Re: Gift Ideas for Friends
We're not doing gifts this year. We are taking a cooking class where you make the meal and eat it together. Figured it was something different!!

I will usually go to the liquor store and get a nice gift box. At this time of year liqours always come with a nice set of glasses or something.
Movie tickets are always good
Or you can get a blockbuster GC and make a basket filled with popcorn and candies.

Re: Gift Ideas for Friends
My friends and I do a Secret Santa every year. There are 8 of us in it that have been doing it for years.
This year, I bought my friend a pair of Michael Kors leather gloves and 2 X-mas Ornaments for her tree for her new place she moved in last year.
The gloves I bought on Bluefly and got a great price for them.

For friends in general I like to get mani/pedi GC's or something for the home. Maybe something monogrammed?
