Gifts for god mothers on mothers day?

Do you get your god mothers gifts on mothers day? or if you're a god mother, do you get gifts from your god children?

I ask because when I was growing up I ALWAYS got my god mother a gift on mothers day. Maybe it's just the way my family is, but it's the same with fathers day.. my god father gets a gift. If my god mother was still alive, she'd still be getting gifts from me on mothers day and I'm 28 years old.

Now, I am a god mother to my 2 year old neice. This will be my 3rd mothers day with her and I have never received a gift, let alone a card on mothers day. It's not the material gift I'm looking for, but it's just weird to me. My mother gets 25 cards from my SIL because she's a kiss a$$, and the witch can't buy me a measly card? Uck, sorry, I'm just venting!!

I am a godmother and don't even get a card (she is 3.5). As for my daughters godmother, I send her a card. I have been thinking of giving her a gift, but I wanted my DD to do that and make her own thing for her when she gets older to understand. KWIM (she is 3).

I am the godmother to my nephew (my sister's son). She always gives me a card and a little something from my godson.

You know my answer. I always get gifts for my godmother on Mother's day --- BUT --- now that I think about it, I don't think I get one for being Jake's godmother (But I also don't see Annie that day so maybe that's why)

She should at least get you a card I would think.

I don't buy my godmother a gift, but to be honest, we are not close at all! When I was a child my mother get a little something and make me make a card, but as I got older it stopped...

I am not a godmother.

But i have always sent my godmother a card and bought her a gift for Mother's Day. She isn't a mother so it is even more special to her.

I do think you should be recognized. I feel like I am not a godmother because I am never recognized as one.

I am a Godmother to my niece kaitlyn and yes i get a card and a gift. I dont give my godparents anything because they live to far and i never did that before, i was going to and my mom said you never did it before 'why start'?

I always get my Godmother a gift and send her a card.

DH and I are the godparents for my sister's son.

I got a card last year for Mother's Day, and he gave me a craft he made for me as a gift.

I don't have godparents, but DH never gets his godparents anything....ever!

I usually give my God-Mother a little something...usually in the $30-40 range.
This yr I got her a small bottle of perfume.

I always give my Godmother - and I am one too - and I always get.
It is nice to be recoginized- even if it is a phone call to say have a nice day - I am thinking of you.

I always send a card, but no gift to my Godmother on Mother's day but not to my Godfather on father's day. (But he stopped sending me birthday cards when I was around 10).

I am a G-d mother to my 11 month old niece I got a card a picture of her and me in a pretty frame.

See, now I'm riled up again because you all basically agree with me...lol

Last year, the day before mothers day we were at my little cousins communion. My brother and his family were spending mothers day with my SIL's family, so when I tell you that my SIL handed my mother about 10 cards I'm not kidding (they have 3 kids but come on, 10 cards?!). Then she gave my grandmother 4 cards (1 from each of the kids, then 1 from her and my brother). I was sitting at the same table and the b*tch didn't say boo to me. The kids are all to little to realize the difference and my brother is COMPLETELY clueless!

I'd like to think she doesn't even realize it, but come on, she can't be THAT dumb! I mean she asked me to be godmother by giving me a birthday card while she was prego from my "future" goddaughter. So we know she has a heart!..lol

from my goddaughter every year a card and always a gift. I helped raise her and I can say whether it is a mug with her handprints on it that she made, a frame with a pic of the 2 of us on it - I love the fact that I am remembered!
