Ginger is here!!!!!!!!! (video links added)
As if waiting almost a month wasn't bad enough, the truck she was being transported in had a flat tire on the way to the pickup location in Rocky Hill Connecticut.  But she's finally home. 
She was the first one off the truck and we really need to leash train her!  She is STRONG. Didn't pull like a maniac but was looking everywhere at once. When we got to grass, she peed forever. Poor girl.
Then we got affection, Labbie leans, body rubs, kisses. There's a video of her with me but I'll post that one later. Here's one of her kissing Rusty:

She really warmed up to us when we were away from the transport location and all the commotion. We had some time with her before we boarded the ferry and she is really cuddly. But whew! She needs a bath. I'm hoping the vet will be able to give her a quick one while we're there on Monday morning. If not, I'm going to have to find someplace to do it. I don't want her first experience to be in our tub because Brinkley is totally scared of it now.
So we got home and took her for another walk, around the backyard, and then let Brinkley out into the yard. They made fast friends. He definitely is more annoying. I think he'll get the idea that she's here to stay and may mellow out around her but he just laid down and shut up about half an hour ago. He keeps trying to play bitey face with her.
No dominance spats yet. No humping. She did put her paw over his shoulder a bunch of times, getting the upper hand if you will. He's already acting submissive to her, laying on the floor and showing his belly. He tried to take a ball out of her mouth and she scolded him for it. Good for her. 
We go out for a walk in a few minutes and then hopefully they'll relax a little again before we go to bed later. She's going to be in the crate, the foster family had her sleeping in a crate already so she's used to it. Brinkley will be in his bed. I hope he leaves her alone and they let us have a full night's sleep. We shall see.

First one is her getting off the truck. Nothing earth shattering but check out how many people were there. ALL of them rescuing dogs. Does a heart good.
Every time a puppy came off the truck, an "AWWW!" spread through the crowd. You can hear one at the end of the clip.

And last, Brinkley and Ginger's first meeting. There's no sound because I had put a track of the Ramones "Animal Boy" which was PERFECT for the length of the video but YouTube stripped it. Oh well.

I hope she & Brinkley will be best of friends
Check Petsmart for a bath on short notice, they may be able to do it (Maddie gets bathed there usually on a day she's at camp and always comes home super shiny and clean!!).

Thanks everyone! She's really acclimating well to her new home. They're currently napping because they are tired from all the play so far today.
She even slept through the night, no accidents, although her poops aren't good yet. We'll give her some time.
Vet appointment tomorrow, I have a feeling they're going to tell me she has ear mites or ear infection. She keeps shaking her head. Let's hope that is all she has to overcome and she gets a clean bill of health!

Seeing the video of them meeting makes me think of them growing up and growing old together, and that totally brought tears to my eyes... you can see that they will be amazing friends!

Awww! I love the videos and pictures! She remind me of my Amber.

Ok now i just watched this on you tube.. That works .. Can someone explain why i am cryong like a baby???? I cant explain this but watching this made me very very emotional..

Tricia, Ginger is just gorgeous! Congrats. I can't wait to meet her. I will watch the videos at home tonight. But I did see the one you posted on FB with you and her. Just too cute. So loving. I'm so happy for you & Rusty.
