Girlfriend getaway to Key West??
My friends and I are thinking about a trip to Florida / Key West. We were going to Vegas, but I guess my one friend veto'd it. Hopefully, we can get this one to happen.
Can anyone recommend a hotel, motel or cottage in Key West?
If there is anything else you'd like to recommend, I'd love to hear it.
TIA!

Re: Girlfriend getaway to Key West??
I went there years and years ago. I LOVED it. I stayed at the Wyndham Casa Marina - they have poolside waitress service, pool bar & grill, casual restaurant and something a little nicer. They used to have a daily brunch buffet which was to die for - I am not sure if they still have it! They have a large pool deck with cushioned chairs and a private beach.
It's pretty close to town. Duvall Street is where all the action is. I can't really remember where I ate other then the hotel
There are conch train tours around the island that will take you by Hemingways house, the southern most tip of America, etc.
Mallory Square is the place to be for sunset - there's arts & craft type vendors and I want to say musicians.

I've stayed at the Hilton a few times and I highly recommend it. I love how you can walk right into town (cabs are really expensive) and you also have access to the private beach on Sunset Key.

Re: Girlfriend getaway to Key West??
we stayed at the Sheraton Suites....very nice hotel....across from what they say is "the best beach on key west". They had a shuttle to take you back and forth to Duval Street but we had rented a car and drove down ourselves everynight.
You have to go down to the Sunset Celebration too.....

Re: Girlfriend getaway to Key West??
Cypress House is great and has an included happy hour every day at the pool that includes lots of wine, apps, and preminum alcohol. I would do a B&B becasue they are beautiful and just as expensive as a nice hotel but offer these happy hours, great breakfasts and a friendly staff that wants to cater to you. I LOVED Cypress House and it's about 2blk from Duval St. It's 1 blk from Key West aloe..it's like Key West bath and body works and is AMAZING!!! FM if I can help I lived in Key West for 7 months and my brother still lives there....

Re: Girlfriend getaway to Key West??
When are you planning on going we have a timeshare and are renting the week its in Dec first week. Its at the Galleon Resort and Marina on Front street. Very close to all the action. Anything on Front street is perfect. You have to stay in Old Town Key West or you are too far from it all.
