Oh you mean the Thunder Beads?!
Actually I am thinking of the movie "Made of Honor" with Patrick Dempsey. The part where the grandmother is given the thunder beads.. She thinks it's a necklace and puts it around her neck.

I saw that on failblog as well. (BTW, I LOVE that site... )
I'm thinking it was fake, though. Just the way the posting was written. It seems too intentionally naive to me. I think if someone really didn't know what they were, they wouldn't go through so much effort trying to describe how to use them as a necklace.
I think someone was trying to get on failblog....
