Girls, I need some suggestions
In addition to planning and paying for my shower and doing ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR IT, my mom has stayed w. me all week since DH has been away and has taken care of me bc of my sciatica. She has cooked dinner every night, stayed up w/ me all night Sat night and didnt sleep yesterday. Goes to work and then comes back here to take care of me. She has been a LIFESAVER!! Shes slept on th ecouch so that i could have the bed to myself bc of my pain etc. I know she doesnt sleep thru the night bc how comfortable could the couch be??
And then to add to it, she comes to my house today after a long day at work presents me w/ a pair of earrings for my shower. She went all the way to the mall to buy them for me bc we never got there this wkd bc of my inability to walk.
So... how do i EVER repay her? I want to get her something special. She isnt into massage. And i think mani/pedi just isnt enough. She treats herself to that regulary so its not special enough. I mean, i plan to write her a card and i know that is all my mom would like, but she deserves more.
Any ideas?

How about treating her to a mother/daughter tea when you're back on your feet? You could go to a nice tea shop - Robinsons Tea Room or Lady Mendl's in the city - just the two of you and some shopping!

Your mom really sounds so wonderful. I would buy her something, not sure what, but make a point of giving it to her at your shower and saying a few words to her in front of your guests to honor how great she has been. Even if you buy her something that represents her becoming a grandmother, but I would def make a point of taking the time to say a few words to her at the shower and put her on the pedestal she deserves to be on!!

This really is such a great idea. Jewelry is always something that is so special and symbolic, instantly reminding you of the moment you received it every time you put it on. What about a piece that has your birthstone stone in it?

ITA!!! I don't know if you like this kind of stuff, buy my mom has the grandmother willow tree figurine next to a picture of my DS at home and she loves it.
