Girls in their early 2nd trimester...
Today I am having a break down bc I am quickly growing out of all my regular clothes....I am sitting here crying bc I cannot button my capris. Anyone having issues with this weight gain????????????????????????????? or am I just an overly emotional hormonal freak?
ETA: I'm 15 1/2 weeks

Re: Girls in their early 2nd trimester...
I am 14 1/2 weeks and feeling this way. I had to use a safety pin today to close my pants b/c the button wouldn't work. These are on my pants that were 2 sizes too big on me this past winter .

i know it's hard to wrap your head around the idea of gaining so much weight... but you are doing it for your little one!! your body needs it.
also, keep in mind that alot of that early weight gain is bloat and will go away with time.
hang in there!!!

Re: Girls in their early 2nd trimester...
I think the early 2nd trimester is an awkward stage, because you usually gain or bloat at that point, your regular clothes don't fit, but maternity clothes may be too big. Plus, you don't really look pregnant yet. I remember being unhappy with the way I looked at that point and feeling fat. Don't worry--in a few weeks, you will look pregnant and adjust to the increase!
If you don't have any maternity clothes yet, you may want to get some, esp. pants or skirts. You'll feel much better if your clothes fit.

Re: Girls in their early 2nd trimester...
I totally had issues w/the weight gain...well, more so of my whole body changing. I worried that I'd be starving all the time and stuffing my face ( I used to be overweight so gaining it back was a huge concern of mine)
But It will get better, trust me. For me, what worked was to watch my arms and legs, and try to judge how chubby they were getting. If they felt "fat" I'd try to eat healthier...or excercise. Most days I only felt the weight in my belly and I was OK with that. Now, I'm a bit chubbier all over but I also have more blood, water, etc running through my system. I'm also 34 1/2 weeks now. You'll be OK and once the whole preggo idea sets in, you won't worry about it so much. Just eat healthy, but also treat yourself every now and then.
I would think that the more someone is concerned about it the easier it will come off after b/c you care so much.

I'm 15 1/2 weeks and right there with you. My clothes are definitely feeling tighter around the middle and it is getting uncomfortable to button my pants. I thibk I am going to have to cave in and buy some maternity pants soon.

Re: Girls in their early 2nd trimester...
I'm almost 16 weeks, and am in the same boat. I basically don't wear any of my old capris anymore, bc although I CAN get them to fit if I try, they are just so uncomortable on me at this point.
This week I started wearing maternity pants (I bought 1 pair, and luckily a friend loaned me a few pairs) and I feel much better. I am still not loving this 'in between' stage where I just look like I gained some weight, but I feel better with clothes that fit me at least.

Re: Girls in their early 2nd trimester...
I went through this 3 weeks ago (at about 14 weeks). I refused to by regular clothes one size larger, because I want to be back in my regular size by next summer so I didn't see the point. My regular clothes didn't sit right anymore and I HATED the way I looked.
I just went out and bought maternity clothes. Some things are a little big and some things fit okay - I have to hike up my pants if I've been sitting for too long but otherwise I'm comfortable. I bought mostly smalls and a few mediums, if I thought that I'd still be wearing the item in the winter.
You have to be comfortable!

Re: Girls in their early 2nd trimester...
Thank you all for your relies - I feel alot better....I actually caved and bought a pair of maternity pants, and it made me feel a little better to see that they were big on me Hopefully in the next few weeks I will get rounder and less "pudgy" looking. Thanks again!

Re: Girls in their early 2nd trimester...
There were a few things I could wear at that point, but I pretty much gave up and bought maternity at 12 weeks. My boobs got big right away so I bought maternity tops around 13 weeks. I refused to buy bigger regular clothes, because at least the maternity stuff I can wear throughout most of the pregnancy.
I used the Bella Band for a while on my regular work pants and stuff like that.
Just make sure you exercise and eat healthy foods. You will be fine.
