girls who had a small christening for their children
i was thinking of doing just immediate family..like 15 people...what can i do if i want it at my house? just get a hero or something? how much does the church cost to have a christening?im trying to figure out when i can have it because dd is already 6 months...and before i know it she is going to be 1. ...i want to keep it as siimple as possible..thanks

I kept it small. about 20 people at my mom's house. We actually did a sit down dinner (added another 6' table down the middle of the livingroom.) It worked out really nicely. I think the church was $350.

We had it at my FIL's house with about 16 people I believe.
The church just accepted donations -- you could have given whatever amount you wanted. We gave $150 but I am sure that there are people who give both more and less.
Ours was in the summer so I had my mom make Mac & Potato salads, and then I grilled chicken, burgers, hot dogs, corn and just had all the fixins to go along with that.

We did small for her Christening and just had a large Bday 1st party in Dec. We had the Christening dinner at Chalie Browns Steakhouse for about 15 people and then the Bday at our local firehouse (lucky us to have one)

WOW that is really good for a church. I think that is what we will do as it keeps the meaning tied into the religious meaning of the day
