Girls who smoked prior to getting BFP

I am a light smoker about 1/2 pack a day on weekends and about 5-6 cigaretes a day during the week. I am TTC and have cut down greatly. I hope to stop totally prior to getting BFP.
My question is for any ladies who smoked then stopped as soon as you got your BFP. Did you see any abnormal weight gain? Do you think it was more the stopping smoking then the actual pregnancy. Just curious.

One of my friends had a really hard time quitting. In the beginning of her pregnancy I think she had a really hard time emotionally because of the combination of hormone craziness and quitting. She did put on a lot of weight in the beginning so not sure if that is why. But, by the end of her pregnancy her total weight gain evened out and was average so not sure if it was just a coincidence. Her baby boy is perfectly healthy But if you can, I would definitely try to quit before BFP to avoid the extra stress among the other obvious reasons.

I was smoking right up until I tested and found out I was pregnant with DD. I was nervous of gaining alot of weight myself. But I didn't gain any weight until I was in my second trimester.

I got my BFP almost 2 weeks ago, so that was my last cigg. I was a light smoker like you. I have not gained anything, actually I was down a cple pds I think (although I hadn't weighed myself right before so maybe I had dropped a cple and didnt realize).

Honestly I don't think it will effect and if it does, it does. We are going to gain plenty while preggo anyway

I smoked before both my pregnancies. The second I got my BFP I quit, it was almost like a light switch went off..i thought it was going to be tough but it really wasn't!!!

ETA: I didn't gain a lot with DD and am hoping not with this one either and lost it all with DD...I gained a total of 28 lbs with DD and I was normal weight to begin with so it was a healthy weight gain for me
