Girls who were on BCP
Sorry for all the q's today-- I am totally bored at work.
Based on what your doc told you-- how long did they tell you to wait to TTC.
I know it can range to no waiting-- to 3 months.
Just curious.
Oh-- and if your doc gave you a rationale as to why or why not to wait, please post that too.

My doctor didn't say anything about waiting, but say it may take a while for my body to regulate so it might not be easy to get pregnant.

My doctor was the same...she didn't say to wait or not, but my peiod was so wacky for 5 or 6 months after going off the pill that we couldn't really. I had NO idea what was going on.

Randi - my dr at the time had said to wait 3 months for my uterine lining to build up...but from everything else I read and heard, you don't have to wait at all. It's just easier to date the pregnancy if you do wait 1 cycle.

My doc said that there is no medical reason to wait, but it is easier to date a pregnancy after you get your first period off the pill.
He was right bc I got preggo 2 weeks off the pill and it was a pain in the beginning not being sure when I got pregnant.

My Dr. told me 3 months, but I wasn't really ready and so pushed it back. We've just started, its now 1 year off the pill.

My doctor told me to wait one cycle. We didn't, but I didn't get pregnant that cycle either.

I was told to wait 3 cycles to get some kind of gauge as to what my cycles were.
I've been off BCPs for almost 3 years now (wasn't TTC this whole time) and my cycle has gone through phases of predictability to downright craziness!

I just went off BCP but don't plan on TTC until next year. I've heard it can take a while for your body to regulate. I don't think there is a real reason to wait but if you want to get a handle on your cycles, it may take a few months.
