Girls who've taken Colace

How long does it take to work? TMI but I don't think I've gone in days and I can't take it anymore. I've eaten more prunes than I can count and I'm sick of bran cereal. So my dr today said I can take Colace but how quick does it work so I know if I should take it when I get home from work or take it in the morning if it takes hours to kick in?

Help! TIA

it's not a laxative, so it's not going to hit you when you are standing on line at the supermarket.

Personally, it didn't help me to move things along.

I had stomach issues before getting prego and I swore by charcoal supplements. Taking them made me regular for the first time in god knows how many years. I asked my doc and he said I could take it-- and it is the only thing that has helped me to poop.

it didn't help? ugh, I hope it works for me, i'm going to give it a shot and if not I'll ask to take something stronger. I was so uncomfortable all day yesterday I was near tears.

I've been taking it everynight with my prenatals and it took days before it helped things along. I still notice it helping that much- I used to poop 1-2 a DAY now its ONCE a week- if I'm lucky

I take colace every day it is too help you go softly not necessarily make you go. Ask your dr about miralax that is what my dr suggested for when it gets really bad make sure to mix with something with flavor it taste nasty and take at night so that it works over night and I usually go by the morning I try not to use it but I do when I am desperate g/l

Thanks Marie! How long have you been taking it? Anything else you've noticed that helps?

Look into the pre-natal vitamin with the stool softner built in. It was a prescription from my doctor. I had such problems with this my last pregnancy and now with this one, not a one! These really work. Plus the vitamin doesn't make me nauseaous.
