Girls with bad backs-wearing the baby-is this a bad idea?
I registered for a Moby Wrap and I was considering getting a sling.
I have a bad back-herniations in my lower back (bad enough that when I spasm I can't walk) and I have arthritis, although I don't know if wearing DD would effect it one way or another.
Does wearing the baby strain the back or is it safe to do considering my issues? TIA!

I have the same.. disc herniations at multiple levels. I've had 3 back surgeries, and every type of therapy you can imagine. I had gotten those spinal epidurals for pain relief about a year before I got pregnant and that worked for a while. I had ZERO back pain while I was pregnant, and after carrying DD in the sling for one walk around the block, I was a cripple the rest of the day. I think I knew though it would be bad bc as soon as I put it on, it just felt uncomfy. Didnt work for me, but I suggest trying it for like 20 minutes and see how you do.
I also tried the Baby Bjorn type and that was no good either. I just wasn't comfortable using the ones where the baby is behind you, so I just gave up and learned to love the stroller lol. Good luck

I tried. It really hurt me. DS was just too heavy...I would've loved to have done it. I tried 3 different brands.

My issues are with the cervical spine and it was tough to wear the baby. I did it sometimes and I was glad to have the carrier but I would have done it a lot more if not for my neck problems.

I couldn't do it. It hurt way too much.
