girls with e-rings or wedding bands with etching and filigree
So I just got another custom "wedding" band. I will still wear my original band-- but my e-ring requires a curved band since it is a low setting so I wanted something else for flexibility.
That's besides the point-- both my original band, my e-ring and this new custom ring-- have like little parts to it that are not perfect-- just like little things in the design, etc. so I can tell either where the ring was soddered, or where they worked to curve it, etc. No one else can see but me-- but I want it perfect-- these things were not cheap!
Anyway, my question is-- with this type of style, will it EVER be perfect? I now have three different rings from two different jewelers. Or am I just way too picky?

I have the filigree and there's nothing wrong with mine. The only thing that upset me was the inside....I was unable to get my ring engraved because of the way the inside was done so he could make it... Hard to explain. It doesn't look bad, it's clean, clean lines, etc, but unable to engrave.

Nothing wrong with the outside but if I were to inspect the inside of my e-ring, I can see pieces of soddered metal. Again, nothing noticeable from the outside.
I'd say if it's really bothering you that you should speak with the jeweller.

Re: girls with e-rings or wedding bands with etchind and filigree
well- I had my initial wedding band sorta custom made-- it was two rings which I had fused together. I have very small fingers-- so, it did not come in my size and then it needed to sized smaller and then soddered together. As a result-- not perfect. I had the jeweler do it three times- and they still could not get it right- so, they just gave me a discount on it. No one even sees it til I point it out-- but, I knw it's not perfect.
Now this ring is MUCH better than that-- but, I still see little teeny, tiny things.

I don't have the type of ring you speak of, but I think it's natural to let tiny things with your ring bother you. When the jeweler was setting my diamond in my e-ring, he scratched--slightly--the inside of one of the prongs. I told DH about it, so we took it to him, and he kinda fixed it, but told me that's what had happened. Now, I do see it, but no one else could ever possibly notice it. I'm so freaking anal, I notice everything.

mine has a small "dent" in the metal work (platinum) but the filiagree is filled with tiny tiny diamonds...making it almost impossible to cut or "punch" out.
I notice it, but no one else does...and even if they do...they are too busy "ooohhing and ahhhing" about how beautiful the filagree is.
if it CAN be fixed..then by all means...but if not...enjoy it for the beautiful ring that it is. It represents love, which is not perfect....I kinda like that my ring reflects that....
