Girls with naturally straight hair, would you still use a flat iron?
My hair is pin straight, but I never blow it out with the round brush and so it can look straggly.
I was thinking of buying a flat iron to make it nice and smooth and shiny--but would it make a difference?
If you do use one, could you recommend yours?
Thanks!

I would use a round brush. Forget torturing your hair with the flat iron.

i use both... i blow it out with the round brush then go over it quick with the flat iron. i just bought a cheapie... i think i have a conair that was $20. it's just to "finish" my hair - not to work miracles, so it does the job just fine and definitely makes a difference.

Re: Girls with naturally straight hair, would you still use a flat iron?
The stylist I used to go to would flat iron my hair after blowing it out just to make the flyaways stay down - it really didn't make a difference with the actual "look" though, since my hair's so straight anyway, so I never bothered doing it myself. I believe hers was a Conair.

i generally wrap dry it with a paddle brush and then use the flat iron on my bangs and the pieces framing my face. occasionally i'll go over the top layer of hair to tame fly aways and even more rarely i'll do the whole head. i mainly just use the iron for any problem areas that the blow dryer missed or if i sleep on it and wake up with a weird kink.

I try not to blow dry as much, and even if I do, its just a quckie for like a minute or so. I do use a straigtening iron if I have to get dressed up, but that like a pp said, is just to set it and I do that really quick as well..

Re: Girls with naturally straight hair, would you still use a flat iron?
I use a flat iron even though I have very straight hair. I don't use a round brush to blow dry because I'm too dumb to know how. The heat damage from the straightener is minimal since it takes very little heat to get it smooth. I just bought a small cheap-o one from Duane Reade. I also find that if I let my hair dry naturally for 20 minutes before I blow it dry, it stays smoother and I don't need to use my iron as much or at all. HTH!

I have naturally straight hair and use a flat iron everyday and my hair is healthy. The flat irons you NEVER want to use are the wet to dry irons.
I have a CHI and I LOVE it!
