Giving Notice
I just officially accepted a new position yesterday, and need to give my current job notice. I start my new job on the 21st.
My boss is on vacation this week, and will not be back in the office until Tuesday morning. Would you wait until then (thus not giving a full 2 weeks notice), or give notice at the end of the day today to the office manager, who is the second in command when he is away, just so that somebody knows that I am leaving and giving a full 2 weeks notice?

Give it to the office manager and HR. I'm sure your boss will find out even if he's on vacation.

I would wait and talk directly to your boss...I just got an offer right before the holiday weekend and waited till after to resign so as not to ruin his weekend, b/c as previous poster said, he will prob be informed immediately.
Depends on your relationship with your boss and size of company too, but one less day than 2 weeks notice is not a huge deal.
