Re: Glucose Test at Quest
it depends what test your doctor wants done... My doctor had me to the 2 hour test, but some do a 1 hour test (and if you fail you get the 3 hour test)

Depends on 1 hour or 3 hour. I did both at Quest. You have to sit there for the full 1 or 3 hour... it stinks but they do not want you to leave.

Glucose Test at Quest
Call quest before you go to see if they actually sent over the script. I took the 3 hr at a lab and they didn't get my scope. I was there for 5 hrs total. I had to call the dr 3 times to get them to send it that morning. My sil did it on a sat and her dr wasn't it in. She wasted 2 hrs waiting for the on call dr to call that never did.

Glucose Test at Quest
I only took the 1 hour but they made me drink the stuff (watched me and timed me, it was kind of creepy) and then I sat there for an hour. The tech was so precise that she kicked someone out of the chair, tourniquet and all at precisely 60 minutes. I went in the city.

Re: Glucose Test at Quest
I did the 1 hour at Quest, and I went at super early, so as soon as they opened shop, they gave me the concoction and told me to hang around for an hour. Like 2 mins before the hour mark, the tech came and got me, and literally at the hour mark drew my blood.

Yep. It's like they think you are going to sneak to Dunkin Donuts and eat 6 donuts and skew your results.

Re: Glucose Test at Quest
my dr had me do the 2 hour.. I had to drink the drink within 5 minutes (so disgusting). they kept very close watch of the clock and had me in the chair right at the 1 and 2 hour mark. I had to sit in the waiting room the whole time. it was miserable. definitely bring reading material!

Glucose Test at Quest
I took the 1 hour. Made an appointment. Drank the drink.. I liked it lol. Sat for an hour, drew my blood and I was done. So easy. They had me wait in the waiting room. Time went by so fast because I was online shopping for the baby lol. 2 hours sounds like torture. Not sure what the point of that is. I passed the 1 hour.

if you fail the 2 hour, you don't have to do it again and you officially have GD. so that eliminates the need for another test like you would need with the 1 hour. that's what I was told at least.

I did the three hour and brought my dh. We played lots of scrabble.

Re: Glucose Test at Quest
I just did the 2 hour test last week. They took my blood when I first got there...drank the stuff...waited an hour, took more blood...another hour...more blood. I was probably there for a total of 2 and a half hours
