Going off BC Question

Is there any harm done if I go off BCP next month, but we don't want to start TTC'ing 'till next summer/fall? Like, are you more fertile right after being on the pill?
If I go off now, will I be less fertile next summer?

Thanks!! I'm so new to all this....Chat Icon

Re: Going off BC Question

I don't really know the answer to your question, but I just came off bc last month after 12 yrs and just got a bfp. We weren't aggressivley trying but I was very aware that the times when we bd'd it could happen. I learned alot from everyone's postings on here. I don't think length of the time off the pill would make you less fertile though. hth

I was on the pill for over 12 years and this is my second month off and my cycle is messed up. The first month was 39 days and now I am at 40 days and still no AF. I think it would be good to get your cycle in order and sometimes that takes time. I do not believe you would be more or less fertile.

Re: Going off BC Question

You can be more fertile when first going off the pill, so if you're not looking to start trying just yet, I would be careful about still using some form of BC. But as with everything, everyone's body is different. Some people may get pregnant right after coming off the pill, and some will take a while longer. I'm in month two off the pill right now.

Re: Going off BC Question

supposedly you are more fertile right after....but I was off the pill for 4 months before we started trying (I went off in april and we started trying in Oct/Nove...we got it on the first try) and then got it on the 2nd month trying with this PG
