Going on vacation with an 11 month old...Bring baby food? Order kid's meal?
We just booked a trip to Mohonk Mountain House, and DS will be 11 months. He's 10 months now, and eating lots of table foods with jars of food too. I hope to have him off formula before we go away.
Would you order kid's meals for him, or just give him parts of our meals and his jars? I checked out the kid's menus, and he could have jelly sandwiches or grilled cheese (he has grilled cheese every night for dinner anyway, though this one would probably be too fancy for him ).
If you went away at that age, what did you do? Order them their own meals?

When we were at my mom's for a week and went out, we ordered for Ann off the kids menu ... I think grilled cheese twice and maybe the other was mac & cheese with a side of applesauce. And pancakes when we went out for breakfast.

You could order him his own meal, or if it will eat something you are (I eat a lot of "kiddie food" myself) I would have shared at that age (like fries and grilled cheese or chix fingers)
Something like pancakes, I'd totally share b/c the portions are usually so big!

When we drove to NY, we mostly ordered kids' meals for her, but I also brought backup jarred food in case she didn't like anything (and then I was also able to be sure she was getting her veggies with dinner).

we've been taking out DD out since about 9 months and she's been eating either part of our meals( if they're big enough) or we order her the chicken fingers or waffles or something and she loves it. My DD gets offended if we're eating real food and we give her baby food.

DS was completely off of baby food by then. He wanted nothing to do with it. If we went out to eat, I usually ordered him a grilled cheese, hamburger, etc.

We did both at that age. DH and I would order what we wanted, if we knew DS would eat it we didn't get him his own. But if we knew he wouldn't eat it we would order some kids meals- chicken fingers, mac n cheese, hamburger, etc...

If you order chicken fingers, do you let them have all the coating, or just make small pieces of the chicken?
