Going rate for in home childcare?
I haven't been daycare shopping in a while but what is currently the going rate for in home childcare - meaning I would be dropping off my child at her home for a full day?
What do you pay for two children?
TIA!

Re: Going rate for in home childcare?
I pay $60 per day or $275 for the week
I drop DS off at 650A and he gets picked up anywhere from 430 to 5P
ETA: That's for 1 child

My MIL lives with us and she helps take care of our son. The only thing it costs me is my sanity

Re: Going rate for in home childcare?
my friend pays $50/day and says that was about avg when she was looking. That was just for 1 kid though.
When my niece and nephews were smaller (a few years ago), BIL and SIL paid $250 for the 1st kid and then $100 for each extra kid (they had 4 kids in daycare and paid $550/wk). That was in Westchester though, but very similar to LI.

Re: Going rate for in home childcare?
I am a nanny until I have my baby in Sept and I currently charge $90 a day for a family with 3 kids, full time Monday-Friday. But I go get them, do the kids wash and do the dishes, take them places, my house, or hangout at theirs.

Re: Going rate for in home childcare?
I was just quoted $50 a day for full time per child - so $250 a week. Part time was $55 per day. This is through a fully licensed in home child care facility.

Re: Going rate for in home childcare?
$75 per day, meals included. I only pay for the days I will send the baby (which will be part time).

Re: Going rate for in home childcare?
awww thank you!! I have been babysitting these 3 kids for over 2 years now... I am really going to miss them soooo much, I love them but the timing worked out perfect, I am having a baby in August and their youngest is starting kindergarten in Sept so I'm no longer needed full time
