Going Thurs for Step B test...
Can anyone tell me what they do?
What exactly is it and what happens if you have it?

Re: Going Thurs for Step B test...
They take a cotton swab and swab the outside of your vagina and rectum.
If you are Strep B positive you will given antibiotics through your IV when you go into labor at the hospital.
It's no biggie. I tested negative with DD and already at 25 weeks I am testing positive, we'll see at 35 if I still am.
ETA: Strep b is natural found bacteria found in/around our vagina's and rectum, it can get more prevalent in pg(like yeast).A baby passing through the vagina can contract the bacteria and cause infection-the use of antibiotics take that risk away.

The just take a sample (like a Pap). Then they send it out and get it tested. If you are positive, which they say is common, you will just receive IV during labor.
