going to a housewarming party on sunday and . . .

I want to bring a bottle of wine (in addition to a gift). I asked what kind is preferred, she said "Any white". I'm clueless about wine. Any suggestions???

TIA!!

My friends are partial to Pinot Grigio. You could try Yellow Tail Pinto Grigio, or ask the person in the liquor store--if you tell them you're looking for a white wine, they will ask you if you like dry wines or sweet, etc etc and can reccommend something.

Most people are fans of Santa Margarita

I like Barefoot and Woodbrige Robert Mondavi (fairly inexpensive)

White zinfandel is a rose, not a white wine, technically.

I know that Pinot Grigios are popular.

Try Rancho Zabaco Sauvignon Blanc. LaCrema Chardonnay is a nice chard. If you want to get something a bit more expensive you could try Conundrum($25 or so)

I love pinot grigio and sauvignon blanc.

I also like Pindar Winter White- which is inexpensive

Barefoot Wines (I think) makes a sparkling Pinot Grigio that's really yummy too.

Here are a few of my favorites

Resiling- Any German Reisling....Either sweet or semi -sweet

My favorite is Hermann J. Weiner's Reislings...which is made in the fingerlakes

Chenin Blanc- I like Pine Ridge

Or you just could ask for a suggestion in the Wine Store.
Here are a few other white wines.

Gewurztraminer- Which is an excellent pairing with spicy food, mexican food, asian.

Chardonnay
Sauvignon Blanc
Pinot Gris
Pinot Grigio

Re: going to a housewarming party on sunday and . . .

I'd say to be safe go with Pinot Grigio.
Sometimes Chardonnys can be a bit too "oaky" for some peoples tastes when looking for white wine.

I usually go to a liquor store and ask them for suggestions. You can tell them a price range and they can help you find something good.

Pinot Grigio. I think it's nice to bring a local LI wine like Wolffer or Pindar.

My girlfriends & I all love Luna de Luna....we buy the pretty cobalt blue bottle which is a mix between Pinot & Chardonnay ! I used to love Santa Margherita Pinot before too...but now Luna is by far my favorite wine now.
