going to chicago in January...
DH has a conference in Chicago for his job and I am going with him...one week in Chicago-we have a VERY formal dinner dance one night, but wanted to know of other things to do with and without DH since some days he will be working...
I know it is going to be COLD-but just HOW cold is cold in January-?

I used to live there. Temperature wise it's usually a little cooler than here. And windy, but I didnt find it to be THAT much colder.
They have lots of great museums (Field Museum, Art Institute) and shopping (but the same stores as here.)

I dont know the hotel we are staying at yet, but when I do, I am going to contact you because I want to know if there are things locally to where I am staying that I can do alone...and with DH
