Re: Going to the Beach/lake

why wouldn't it be okay? i would just be careful, pregnant women burn much more easily, so use a lot of sunscreen. enjoy!!!

Re: Going to the Beach/lake

I would be worried about Melasma (mask of pregnancy) and overheating body temp for a developing baby. I would personally avoid it for these reasons but I don't know that a dr would say this. And I don't know if we should use some sunscreens with certain chemicals. I was trying to find the answer to this as well.

Re: Going to the Beach/lake

We're going to Negril at the end of the month and I spoke to my doctor about going before we booked the trip. She said it was fine as long and I stayed very hydrated and tried to avoid the sun between 12 and 2 when it is at its peak. Can you sit in the shade, or bring an umbrella? She also suggested wearing strong sunblock. I am very fair and she said that pregnancy makes you burn more easily.

Re: Going to the Beach/lake

I try to avoid the sun as much as possible, but that's b/c I've always been pretty sensitive to the sun. Even though I put lotion on, I got a slight sunburn in CA a few weeks ago which turned into an itchy, splotchy rash. Chat Icon Just make sure you have sunscreen and don't stay out too long.

Re: Going to the Beach/lake

only thing is that besides getting burned
the sun drains you of your energy and vitamins; which is why it is suggested that pregnant women dont sit in the sun
