Going to "the Rise" at the Old Westbury Gardens with lots of kids...
need a super kid friendly place to eat beforehand in the area THIS FRIDAY!
I am from the area so I feel like this should be simple...but since we are eating before - We can't wait an hour and a half like we usually do at all the chains in the Westbury/Carle Place area
Meeting at restaurant at 630pm The Rise tickets are at 830pm
So far I suggested to the other families:
Italian papa razzi - 1500 Jericho Tpke, Westbury NY 11590 2 mi west of the gardens
Hibachi - Genji 1 Jericho Tpke, Jericho, NY 11753 3 mi east of the gardens
Pub - Bar and Grill Willy Parkers - 71 Hillside Ave Williston Park, NY 11596 3 mi west of the gardens
BBQ Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que - 1060 Corporate Drive Westbury, NY 11590 3 mi south of the gardens
Then I also said we COULD try the usuals - TGI Fridays, Chili's Bertucci's, Cheesecake factory, etc etc...but again not sure if we can afford a long wait with only a 2 hr window!
Any other Kid Friendly suggestions under 5-10 mi from Old Westbury Gardens?!?!
thanks

papa razzi probably a good choice since it is spacious. You might even be able to make reservations.

thanks - that is what I am thinking...
I haven't been in a while though! Do they have a kids menu? I forget? Can't seem to find their website!

Have you considered call ahead? Chilis and a few other places take them.
Famous daves will have a long wait too.

We went last weekend and ended up going to Bens Kosher Deli. It was super quick and my Son loves the food so it worked out great
PS - The lines are insane getting in there, so even if you get there 8 for an 8:30, you are basically waiting on the same line as everyone else.....they have no organization there I paid for the Orange tickets which means we could go on any day at any time and ended up being mixed all together with 8,8:30, etc...

Agreed. It was poorly executed getting people in.
Also its going to be dark and its basically just a herd of people so maybe get all the kids matching glow necklaces so you can spot them quickly. It can be hard to keep track of them in the mass of people!
But we all loved the pumpkins!!!

What about Grimaldis? They would take a reservation for a bigger table and isn't far from westbury gardens.

The are farther up the road west of roosevelt field. DON'T do it! They have been packed and don't take call aheads. We tried to take DD#1 there 2weeks go. Quoted 20 mins waited 1 hour and told we should never have been told 20 mins and that it would be at least another 20 mins. Many people were leaving angry and upset. DH tried it again before takung DD to the rise they had 630 tickets (DD#2 was home sick) they went at 430 told 15-20 mins and waited 45-50 mins for a table.

Just went to that new resturant in holiday inn. I think it's sports news. They had a nice kids menu like $5.00 and some decent sandwiches and salads reasonable priced. I'm sure they would set aside a big table
