Re: goldendoodle and labradoodle breeders
Either of these dogs are not a breed - they are a mix of poodle and labrador/golden retriever. This means there are no reputable "breeders" for these dogs as they are not a breed.
If you are looking for a low allergy dog in this size area - you might want to look into a poodle or Portuguese Water Dog (which looks like a labradoodle).....

Yes I know - but I know people who have both and they are great dogs - both for allergies and tempermant. Just looking to see if anyone purchused theirs from a "breeder."

Re: goldendoodle and labradoodle breeders
goldendoodles are better behaved than labradoodles but you have to realize, these dogs are bred with POODLES which are some of the most hyper dogs out there. i definitely would try to avoid these breeds especially if you're looking for a reputable breeder. alot of puppy mill/backyard breeder dogs are "well behaved" but if you're looking for a reputable breeder, it's because you want to do the right thing. please try and find another breed and save a life

do you know someone who has one? Many of my friends who live out of state have both of these breeds and they are amazing animals..... I would buy from their breeders but I was just looking for someone closer than going out of state. Not looking for advice on the breed, I'm pretty well educated on it, plus standard poodles have a much different disposition than mini poodles- just looking to see if anyone on here bought one in the area.

Re: goldendoodle and labradoodle breeders
I don't know dealers for these dogs but I wanted to state the obvious - there are no guarantees that a particular breed is going to be great or not.
Just as you can't stereotype all dogs in one breed as bad, you can't stereotype all dogs in one breed as good.
Take the typical traits of a breed with a grain of salt and consider that every breed, mixed breed, and individual dog can be much different than the next one. I have a Lab that doesn't like water that much, and I know people with extremely aggressive Labs that attacked them. Responsible breeding for desirable traits is very important in not flooding the world with problem dogs.
Also, when you mix breeds like that, without knowing how that affects generations of mixed breeds down the line, you don't really have guarantees on their temperament or health either. Please be careful and interview each dog as an isolated case and choose on personality. Good luck with your search.

No more responses please... I wasn't looking for pet lectures. I have owned and grew up both purebreds and mixed breeds. I'm not an irresponsible pet owner. Should people only have purebreds and not mixes? There goes the pet adoption world where mostly all of the dogs are mixed!
