Re: good books/websites
Someone got it for me recently and you're right, it's a little much.
Someone made me swear to get the book "The Happiest Baby on the Block". I got it yesterday and so far, it's very interesting. She said to read it even before we deliver.
Pregnancy Week-by-Week is also a good one! That's all I know of!

On our first childbirth class our instructor told us to throw that book out immediately!!
I agree with the Week by Week.
For post pregnancy topics I've been reading Happiest Baby on the Block and Baby 411.
Both very good.

I was recommended that book too by several ppl, including the teacher for our pre-natal classes. Ppl seem to swear by it..... I bought it, but haven't read it yet-- good to hear it's interesting though!

I have a certain love for babycenter.com because I used their ovulation calendar and I got PG my second month trying thanks to that site.

Re: good books/websites
I have Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy and it is hilarious. And I have read Belly Laughs while sitting in Barnes and Nobles.
