Good desserts for holiday potluck?
We're having a holiday potluck and I'm bringing dessert!
What do you suggest? (It's only about 10-12) of us.
I was thinking maybe those rainbow cookies since I just saw the recipe! And maybe chocolate chip cookies too.
Any other suggestions??

Re: Good desserts for holiday potluck?
Here you go!
Peanut Butter Surprise Cookies 2 sticks butter (softened) 1 cup creamy peanut butter 1 cup light brown sugar 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 3 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 pkg. (13oz) snickers miniatures Preparation Combine the butter, peanut butter, and sugar, using a mixer on a medium to low speed until light and fluffy. Slowly add eggs and vanilla until thoroughly combined. Then mix in flour, salt and baking soda Cover and chill dough for 2-3 hours. Unwrap all the snickers miniature. Remove dough from refrigerator. Divide into 1 tbs. pieces and flatten. Place a snickers in the center of each piece of dough. Form the dough into a ball around each snickers. Place on a greased cookie sheet and back at 300 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Let cookies cool on baking rack or wax paper. (Optional: Sift with powdered sugar and drizzle with melted chocolate) Makes about 2 dozen cookies
I think the cookies look too plain without the drizzled chocolate on top.

Re: Good desserts for holiday potluck?
it's from Rachael Ray
Five-Minute Fudge Wreath Ingredients 1 (12-ounce) bag semisweet chocolate morsels 9 ounces (3/4 of a 12-ounce bag) butterscotch morsels 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 (8-ounce) can walnut halves 1/2 cup (a couple of handfuls) currants 1 8-inch cake pan, lightly greased with softened butter Candied cherries, red and green, for garnish, optional Preparation Place a heavy pot on the stove and preheat it over low heat. Add chips and milk and stir until chips are melted and milk combined. Save the empty condensed milk can. Stir in vanilla and remove fudge from heat. Add nuts and currants and stir in immediately. Cover empty condensed milk can with plastic food wrap and center it in the greased cake pan. Spoon fudge into pan around can, making sure to recenter can if it drifts. The fudge will set up almost immediately. Garnish can only be added in the first minute or 2 the fudge is in the pan, so work quickly. Decorate your wreath with "holly" made from cut candied red and green cherries. Cut the red cherries in half with scissors and the green cherries into quarters. Use the green pieces to make leaves and the red to make holly berries. Decorate the fudge with several groups of holly berry sprigs made from the cherries and garnish with walnuts between the sprigs. A wreath left plain can be garnished with a pretty fabric bow when serving. Put the fudge in the fridge and chill until firm. Remove the can from the center, then loosen the sides and bottom of the fudge with a spatula. Cut the fudge into thin slices to serve. Slice fudge very thin when ready to serve, a little goes a long way. Variations: White Chocolate Wreath with Pistachio and Cranberry
Substitute the chocolate chips with white chocolate chips, 1 1/2 ounce bag plus 1 cup. Substitute 1 to 1 1/2 cups of shelled natural pistachio nuts for walnuts. Substitute 1/2 cup dried sweetened cranberries for currants. Goober and Raisinette Wreath Swap butterscotch for peanut butter chips Swap large whole peanuts for walnuts used in original recipe (such as peeled Virginia Peanuts) Swap 1/2 cup large raisins for currants in original recipe
