good gift ideas for a first birthday?
DH and I are going to his niece's first birthday party this weekend. I want to get her something nice, but I'm not sure what to get. Clothes? Toys? Is there an "it" toy that your one-year-old loves?

How about the PB Anywhere chair? I got one for Ryan for his 1st and one for my nephew for Christmas - at least it'll last a while.

I agree - DD loves hers.
One of my favorite gifts that DD received was a really pretty hand painted growth chart. My friend got it at a baby store in Forest Hills, but I have seen similar stuff at Spoiled Rotten ion Woodbury.

Thanks for the ideas! The chair is adorable! I never thought about giving a growth chart before...time to start shopping!

I love that store too. Also, a hand painted toy chest would be a nice gift and very useful (also from Spoiled Rotten in Woodbury or Over The Rainbow Too).
