Re: Good Orthopedist- does anyone know of one in western suffolk
I have an awesome one in Setauket. He specializes in Shoulders. He did both my shoulder surgery and my brother. I found him through my SIL who is a physical therapist. I LOVE HIM and had a great experience and recovery.
Dr Philip Shrank
Philip L. Schrank, M.D. Dr. Schrank earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1995 after earning two B.S. degrees in Engineering Science and Psychobiology from the University of Miami. His post-graduate training included a fellowship in sports medicine at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles along with his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute and general surgery internship at NYU Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Schrank currently specializes in the treatment of shoulder and sports medicine injuries. He has been a pioneer in the field of computer navigated total shoulder replacement allowing St. Charles hospital to become only the 2nd center in the world to be performing this FDA approved operation. With his vast experience in rotator cuff repairs he currently offers all arthroscopic patch augmentation grafting and reverse ball and socket options for massive rotator cuff tears. By employing state of the art surgical and rehabilitative techniques for anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions, Dr. Schrank has been returning patients back to work, sports and life as quickly as possible.

Thanks!! I will tell my mom. The hospital wanted her to get a second opinion and we will definitely check him out. She's kinda scared of surgery because she is a diabetic and has COPD. She's nervous that if she gets operated on then she will get an infection, etc.
Not sure what she is gonna do, but I feel so bad for her. All I see is her fall over and over again in my head. Im so nervous for her.
