Good Place to Buy a Tree
Anyone know of a good place to buy a tree in Suffolk county? I'm looking for a specific tree... Crimson King Maple and I want a large one. Lowes has maples just not that kind.

I just called them. They have the tree but it's in a 10 gallon container. The girl doesn't know how tall it is though. I want a tall one... I'm tired of looking at my neighbors!

Bump. They have the trees I want but charge $65 to deliver! I'm 5 minutes away.

Re: Good Place to Buy a Tree
we bought a few trees from Cheap Sams and they are doing very well!! Very healthy trees
I also couldnt beleive how much the delivery cost was and I am one exit away from them! They say that $65 is for a truckload but i was just buying 2 trees at that time!!
we ended up getting 2 pretty good sized trees and loading them into the trunk of our cars and driving really slow on the service road!!

Re: Good Place to Buy a Tree
Mind if I ask what kind of car you have? I have a Focus so I think that's out of the question but DH has a Taurus so maybe...

we have a Taurus also! that is what we put the trees in.....we put the container into the car....as far as we count then let the tree hang out of the back...we tied the trunk down but not too tightly

Re: Good Place to Buy a Tree
What kind of trees? Evergreens or one like a maple? I'm worried it would snap off.

Re: Good Place to Buy a Tree
Eck. I called and they have no more left and won't for a month! I read that the best time to plant a tree other than spring is between 8/15 and 9/15. Need another place!
