Good places for nice furniture, good quality and low prices?

I like to mix and match-- spend more money on one thing, less on others... but everyone loves a deal!

Where is good to look for stuff that's nice but won't break the bank?

I like Ballard-- I have ordered from there and know the quality is good. What else?

Love Raymour and Flannigan!! We bought things for our living room and basement. Keep an eye out they always have sales and 0% interest for 6 months offers!

I'm digging Ethan Allen and some other smaller stores like Safavieh. Room and Board has a big showroom in Soho and has lots of pieces with sleeker lines.

Love Ballard...I can't wait for their next friends and family sale.

Oh oops. I missed the bit about low prices. Hah. But I do think it's better to spend a little more on a quality piece than to have to buy something twice.

But on the cheaper side, I've gotten some great deals from Overstock.com and from Home Decorators. I wouldn't buy big pieces like sofas from there but would definitely recommend smaller accent pieces like mirrors or side tables.

Are you interested in renovating or hiring someone to renovate furniture for you? I prefer old, heavy, real wood dovetailed furniture. We have bought many quality pieces from habitat restore and craigslist and either refinished ourselves or paid to have it refinished. My Stepmother will garbage pick stuff and prime and paintit and she has some awesome pieces. I love an older piece of furniture painted a funky color-but I have eclectic taste

Ballard, Overstock, and for certain things, Gothic Cabinet Craft.

also, antique shops. you cannot beat the wood quality for the price...even if you have to do a little work to get it back to its old sheen.

we got some GREAT pieces for PENNIES on the dollar of what it would have cost at EA or Thomasville or Crate or Pottery.

I ordered my bedoom furniture from north carolina (highpointfurniuturesales.com) ... They were excellent... You can pretty much order any manufacturer of furniture through them... Ours is an ashley set and we love it! and was about 1k cheaper going through NC instead

Oh and ps: not sure where you live but steer clear of rooms unlimited in medford.... they are a horrendous company... just take a look at their ratings on BBB... we had to deal with them for a long 5 months and finally are done with their BS

Macys, and Homegoods.

My house is pretty much furnished with all Macys furniture except for the kitchen table and TV room sectional. I've founds tons of odds and ends pieces of furniture at homegoods that I love!
