Good used book stores on Long Island?
Are there any large used book stores on Long Island? The kind that sell paperbacks for $1, not rare first editions for $$$.

It's not large, but there is a used book store on Hempstead Turnpike on LI, by Ground Round and OTB, just off the Wantagh Parkway. Great prices and a good selection. All his inventory is from readers who trade/sell so if you want something that was a recent best seller, you have a good chance of finding it. My dad and I always find good books and we both trade a lot too.

Have you tried your local library? My library (smithtown) has an ongoing booksale, which is run by friends of the library foundation. I've gotten whole series of Agatha Christie there, tons of books for my classroom, and lots of adult books. Lots of times, the books are barely used, probably read only once. Check your library and see if they have an ongoing book sale.
The best part is, some of the books are 10 cents, none are more than a dollar!

Thank you so much for the recommendation. I went there and left with a bag full of books. There was some great stuff. Its a bit of a treasure hunt as everything isn't perfectly sorted by author, but it is well organized by genre.
