DH and I wore our work clothes (business casual) but I saw another couple and they had on jeans - but they looked very nice...nice tops etc. So really it's up to you but I personally wouldn't recommend sweats - or suits for that matter.

In my opinion...you don't need to wear a suit but you have to be comfortable with your choice of clothing. So if you want to wear one - you definitely can.
Our board meeting consisted of two boardmembers who were in jeans and t-shirts (summer).

as a board member myself, a suit is too much, and even clean casual is fine.
Unless of course you are buying in an area like NYC.
ETA: really dont stress it is sooo overrated!
