Got surge but no follicle....
I am taking clomid and doc told me to test from day 11 - well lo and behold i get a couple of positives on day 12. go in for IUI and he does IUI and then checks for follies - i had none! went back on friday and he thought he saw one forming so going back today (CD 18) to check growth. Anyone BTDT?

I wouldn't ovulate until days 20 or 21 when I was on Clomid - no matter how much they gave me.
Why did he do the IUI before looking for follies? It makes no sense that he did an IUI on CD12 -

I used to ovulate around CD 20 when I took clomid. I couldn't use OPK's because they would not show my surge.
eta: why didn't he check for follies before doing the IUI?

I am not trying to say anything about your doc, but why are you testing? Aren't they monitoring you on the clomid?

yup they are monitoring but I guess they check for follies after the IUI. guess it was just a false surge. For you ladies that o'd on days 20 or so with clomid, did you get pg? i think it's too late to be o'ing for some reason. Can you tell me if you've moved on from clomid?

Yes I have moved on from Clomid - way on. But I don't think that CD 20 or 21 is too late...if you went to CD 28 or 30 that might be a problem. Some people just have slower growing follies or they take longer to start growing in the first place. I know for me, there would be nothing until CD14 or 15 and then in less than a week there would be stuff happening.

I guess that's what happened to me too - he thought he saw the start of a follie on CD15 and then on CD19 it was 22 mm so he gave me a HCG shot and we did another set of IUIs. When I got pg with my son, I was ovulating so much earlier - that's why I feel like this may not work. Thank you for your input - and best of luck to you.....
