GRADUATED from Dr B today..... WEEK 9 SONO!!!!!
and i'm sad that he doesn't deliver. Like ready to cry sad. He was the best dr I've EVER gone to in my life!!!
I had my 9 week appt today... I also had the OBGYN appt yesterday with the new dr.
Dr B straightened out a few things for me today. According to the new dr's measurements from yesterday my baby was SHRINKING... forget about not growing right... it was SHRINKING!!! I was so freaked out by the sono I had yesterday at the new dr... it wasn't clear at all... looked like a blur, etc. Meanwhile a week prior it looked like a baby with arm buds and all....
LAST WED I measured 8w3d
YESTERDAY new dr measured me at 8w0d!! AND that's with me making him remeasure and he "found" 2 days... originally he was measuring me at 7w5d which would be IMPOSSIBLE for many reasons!
Anyway... I show Dr B the sono pic from yesterday. He tells me "that's a crummy pic".... which I knew myself, but it was reassuring to hear it...and then he said "the measuring also cut off part of the baby" thus making me measure less than I should be!!
So today I measured MUCH more on target... baby looks like a baby again (not at all like the blur from yesterday)!!! Not only that but I saw the baby kicking and punching with it's lil tiny arms and legs... Dr B said he's just learning how to make movements in there. Dr B checked the umbilical cord and the blood flow, he really went above and beyond checking every little thing for me.
I have to get a move on with posting some of the tons of sono pics I have.... esp to show you last week dr b pic, then yesterday crummy sono pic from new dr, and then today awesome dr b pic!!!
So now my 12 week appt at the OBGYN will be at 13 weeks bc silly dr didn't measure correctly or zoom in enough.  Whatever, it is what it is..... I'm just happy all things are going perfectly!!!

The baby was soo cute! little arms and legs kicking and punching... and a big head!! it looks like a cartoonish baby now!! not just a blur on the screen!!!
I can't wait for a July thread to start.
I still won't start one. With my last pregnancy I started an August one... and then I had a mc... so for me it's like a bad omen... I just can't do it. But I look for one whenever I'm on!!!

good to hear! dr. b wanted to graduate me at 9w too but i sort of got around it
anyway im glad  was measuring on track!! if i were you i would think about seeing another OB.. if he did such a bad job the first time (how do you only measure MOST of the baby??) i would be nervous about future visits, but thats just me. im trying out two different obs just to see which i like better.

Congratulations!!! My OB in the beginning was getting really crummy pics in comparison to my perinatologist. It will get better as the little bean grows

I wondered the same thing, in regards to how he measures everyone else. He wasn't off by a little bit either.. he was originally off by 11 days, then off by 9 days... and even with 9 days the measuring was going BACKWARDS. The pic he gave me was sooo crummy!!! I HAVE to post these pics... then you will be able to see it. I even started studying the pics... and I saw what looked like baby blur beyond the one x marker... but it's hard to study a sono pic that's such poor quality esp when you don't have experience in sono's like that. But that's what I was seeing. Dr B confirmed that for me!
I thought about changing OB's. BUT he wasn't ever the dr I was meant to go to. I called and made an appt with Sadaty. They put me on with someone else and didn't tell me. Then I called to move the appt back a week... I found out they didn't give me Sadaty and asked for her again. They gave me Kauffman. When I got there yesterday and said I had an appt with Sadaty... they said she wasn't in. So I HAD to see Kaufman. OK... I figure I'll have to see everyone in the practice anyway and future appts can be with her, since she's the one I wanted to be with! SO.... then the guys mismeasures me and tells me to make an appt for 4 weeks.... it really should be 3 weeks but bc his measuring is off....
SO I go to make that appt with Sadaty and I'm told she's on vacation!!!  back to this Kaufman I go!!
If I didn't get such HIGH recomendations for Sadaty I would probably just go to another OB office.
I will say, the office was really great. they were so sweet. the girl who took my blood was knowledgeable. The dr wasn't bad other than the measuring and the sono! He was nice and easy to talk to and all that. JUST his sono and measuring was WAY off!!! I just don't know what to make of it.
AND this office gave me a lot of take home information and samples, etc. I didn't' get that from my OB when I was initially pregnant a year ago. I'm a bit torn...

AHH good to know I'm not the only one!!
haha... where were you yesterday when I posted about it?? I was freaked out and nervous about his crummy pic and the amount he was off in his measuring!!!
I was starting to think I was the only one this happened to.
Really Important Question: Did your OB pics get better as time progressed???

omg, they are one of the two OBs im trying!! i really wanted to see Rifkin though but im having trouble getting an appt time that works for me and he will also be on vacation (so im told) for a week sometime in December. im not sure who my first appt is with - but id rather see Sadaty if I cant see Rifkin. i would really only want to see her or Rifkin just because those doctors are the reason im trying the practice.
they do come so highly recommended im sort of disappointed that your sono was so off!!! im still going to give them a shot since i also have an appt with another ob (sooner than my appt with great neck ob/gyn), but i find it quite interesting. thanks for sharing your story!!

So glad your appointment went well! I always find it odd when people say they had a sono and the dr did it. At my office my dr. doesnt do the sono's, they have a tech who is trained in ultrasound. Hope you get to see the dr you wanted to see at your next ob appointment and have a better experience!

I know that was one of the offices you were looking into.
And the office is really awesome. the girls were sooo nice. And I really did feel comfortable there. The ONLY problem was this sono.
Rifkin is the other dr there right? You have me thinking I should have made my next appt with him instead!
Dr Kaufmann wasn't bad... just this sono business. I'm wondering if he usually even does sono's now... based on what Gail posted. If he doesn't then maybe that's the case? IDK.
I'm in the mist of gathering sono progression pics... so you will see what I mean for yourself in a few minutes!! Stay Tuned!
ETA: all sono pics have been posted... on another thread!!! I only have one pic from today that I didn't bother posting... i went with the better angle pic instead.
