Graduation gift for a 5th grade boy
My best friends son is graduating in a couple of weeks and I want to get him a little something. He is almost 11. I am not sure what to get him as a gift. He doesn't have an easy life and since he lives in a very small apartment, I can't get him anything big. Should I just do cash or a gift card or should I take him out for the day to a go cart place or something like that?

I think I would do cash and a smaller gift card - maybe to the movies (you could do it with a bucket of microwave popcorn and candy) or itunes if you know he has an ipod or something?
Eta: The go-cart idea sounds fun too, but I think I would still want to give a gift on top of "doing something" for the day.
That age is tough, lol!
