Graduation Gifts

I'm graduating this month! (yeah, baby!)

But that also means several of my friends are also graduating. I'm already invited to one party. What is an appropriate gift? Since it's someone the same age as me and we're both graduating, I don't really think cash is appropriate. Any other thoughts?

What do you usually give for a graduation?

Maybe you can get something that goes with your major or career.
Like for example: A briefcase, deskset, mongrammed card case...etc.

All of my friends gave each other stuff from our college--a throw with the university logo, alumni sweatshirts, etc. It's great because we still get nostalgic and have that stuff forever. One friend gave me a picture of us all at graduation in a frame from our college, which I still have and love.

They're all my friends from working in theatre together, some are theatre majors, some aren;t. The one party is a guy who is a business major with a drama minor.

ETA: we all hate our university for the most part, so university stuff is not going to go over well.

The card case might be good since he wants to go into business.

When I did my thesis originally in 2004 when i was supposed to graduate, my cast got me a director's chair and all signed it. It was really meaningful. I wish I could think of something meaningful for these guys I've acted alongside and directed many many times.
