Grand Oasis Cancun All Inclusive - anyone ever stay there?
Anyone ever been? It sounds so nice, but the reviews are kind of mixed. I am looking to book tomorrow
TIA

Re: Grand Oasis Cancun All Inclusive - anyone ever stay there?
When I was in college, it was "the" place to stay at for Spring Break. I am pretty sure that regardless of the time of year, it is a younger, spring breaky type hotel. I am not saying this in a negative way at all, before I had kids, this is the type of hotel that would have been perfect for DH and I!

Have not been there but we are looking to go to Cancun soon. I am looking at Secrets Silversands resort. The reviews on trip advisor are really good. It is a new resort - built in 08.

We stayed here last year as my husband's pick and it was VERY young....if that's what your looking for it's great but if not then try elsewhere....

I stayed there too during spring break!
It was a nice hotel but I just remember it being filled with college kids.

Did you book it?
I stayed at the one in Alcumal - about 60km south of Cancun.
If you want a party atmosphere - go to Cancun. They offered us a free upgrade to this one, but we declined since it was Spring Break.
If you want relaxation (we went on our honeymoon) go to Alcumal.
The resort was wonderful. The food was amazing and they treated us wonderfully. We met some great people too.

Re: Grand Oasis Cancun All Inclusive - anyone ever stay there?
This is probably too late, but I stayed there back in 03. The Oasis was more of the younger/spring break crowd and the Grand Oasis was older couples and families. However the two hotels share a pool area. My cousin and I were there for more of the younger crowd and everyone we socialized with (from that hotel group) was staying in the Oasis, not the Grand.

Re: Grand Oasis Cancun All Inclusive - anyone ever stay there?
We went to Cancun a few years back.
As long as you don't go in March/April, there really isn't as much "spring break" atmosphere - a lot of families and couples. There were clubs and stuff if you wanted to do that kind of thing but plenty of other options.
IMO, I wouldn't do an all-inclusive in Cancun. There are TONS of restaurants all along the main strip that you can walk to or easily take the bus (it runs up and down 1 street of all hotels, so easy to navigate). There are dining options for all budgets and all types of cuisines. Just me, but I prefer all-inclusives for areas that I don't plan on leaving my resort. There is lots to see and do in Cancun outside of your resort and it is a safe area.
